There are daily emergency medical needs.

The economic crisis in Nicaragua has made life VERY difficult for most of the Islands familieis.  Thank you for helping us provide assistance! 

To teach someone how to live as a civilized human being is not the easiest job in the world!

Please pray for Walter and Zayda.  It isn't an easy assignment to take 16 children and 5 mothers who have lived in "survival" mode all their lives and teach them to care for one another, share, live responsibly, speak peaceably, take care of things like uniforms, school supplies, be thankful.....well,

you get the picture!

Not everyone in the world threatens to kill each other because their children are arguing over a ball but that's just one of the daily challenges of caring for "the least of these".

MEDICAL EMERGENCIES

(Felipe is undergoing chemotherapy in Managua.  He would not even be able to get to his treatments without assistance.  Thank you to a church in East Tennessee for providing for him)

We have ongoing medical needs as three ladies undergo cancer treatment in Managua.  This requires $100 per month for each of them.  Do you understand that the income for most people in the Islands is merely $3-5 per day?!  These ladies would have died without these treatments!  We thank you for giving generously to help them. 

We provide the elderly with medicines, food, transportation to doctors & ladies of the church even wash their clothes (on a rock in the lake) and make suret hey are clean.

 There are many famiies who have procured a little piece of land for permanent housing.  Thanks to many of you for providing $5500 to build adequate houses.

A house dedicated to the glory of Jesus Christ!  This young family is so grateful for making possible this permanent home!

This couple send much appreciation for the generosity of a sweet naval officer who donated their house in honor of her parents' anniversary! (They are now moved in!)

Mariano, a young man who fell from a tree in November 2011 is now paralyzed from the waist down.  He has on going medical needs and requires $50 of medical supplies a month (catheters, gloves for his caregiver, etc.)  He has total trust in Jesus who sustains him in spite of his difficulty.

MAKING AN ETERNAL DIFFERENCE!!

Recently, more people have repented and received the GIFT of ETERNAL LIFE! Pray for them as they deny themselves, learn new habits as they follow Jesus, and serve their families and community.

NEEDY WOMEN

 Please pray for the women who have been victimized since they were children.  Pray they will understand the Gospel and receive Christ's love.    There are still many needs.  Daily food, clothing, and on-going counseling are being provided.  Thank you for praying for them  and the once-neglected children.  The fathers of some of these children arevery abusive.  Pray that all will be transformed by the Gospel!

Praise the Lord!  Several now live in the SHELTER and we are grateful the Lord is demonstrating His transforming power!

 Of course, there are ongoing medical needs as well.  Over 50 individuals per week receive medical care and FISH provides prescription medicines for those who need it if we don't have the medicine available in the Health Center.  There are still babies being born and FISH provides those newborns with a care package and the mothers with supplies for the hospital.  There are weekly emergencies as well.

Pray that Walter and Zayda may be protected and energized as they meet the daily demands of pastoring a growing church and fulfilling the F.I.S.H. goals of compassionate outreach to their community.

Pray that their children, Tamir and Nazareth, will be able to "share" mom and dad with a needy community and that God will protect them.

There are several families needing boat repairs.  They cannot pay for repairs since these families are barely getting enough to EAT!  $250-$600 will help them be able to FISH to feed their families AND get the children to school.

There are five families needing adequate shelter.  $5500 will build a block & cement 3-room house with steel framing. Please let us know if you can help one of them!
